is well known that the war on drugs has been one of the worst decisions of Felipe Calderón. It is clear that many areas of the country are feeling the ravages of that war, whose consequences are not entirely good.
One of the suggestions of many people, is the death penalty. I see it as simply an act of revenge, though, not only to practice and put criminals in jail is not a guarantee that no further offenses.
I do not really agree with this measure. Here are my reasons.
Justice System
If you have not seen the movie 'suspect', watch it to give you an idea of \u200b\u200bhow they spend public servants, lawyers, judges, police, ministry. It is truly a shitty, and I doubt that all those who are in jail, everyone is guilty. There is no good database of fingerprints much less a good genetic database, and this does not help the justice system.
"The death penalty helps to lower crime?
is a difficult decision. Too many data are to be taken into account to determine if in fact the crime rate low in imposing the death penalty. No matter how many studies are made, there will always be pros and cons. Some experts say that for every ecution saved 5 lives, some say they do not agree, but agree that people respond to "incentives" and some other experts simply believe that capital punishment is a very big animal simply can not be measured.
Some studies regard.
there really be killed?
To go a little science, certain disorders
some individuals who, if not make you feel empathy for what they do, it makes one question whether it really is just only kill them. behaviorists have argued that we and some animals showed fear (facial) as a distress signal to trigger a reduction in the threat of injury to another person. The psychologist Abigail Marsh argues that it is no accident that the sample of fear of humans contortions his face in a way that looks like a baby (Large, round eyes, eyebrows raised). This causes empathy and remorse, and assumes that the victim would be safe from further attacks.
Marsh tells a story of a colleague of hers who was studying a psychopathic murderer and showed him some faces with different emotional expressions. When the killer saw the face that characterized the fear, she scratched his head and said, "I do not know how to call this term, but it looks like the people before the stab."
But this has nothing to do with lack of emotions and feelings, this is a neurological basis, just one section of the brain does not respond to these stimuli.
Experiments Abigail Marsh mentioned that she did, and some other experiments of some other psychiatrists, suggesting that many serial murderers have no such brain activity, therefore they will not react with empathetic when committing their crimes.
Such experiments have also been made in children, 36 children were subjected to a study in which 12 of them were without this brain activation, and in a similar study found that the ability of people to react expressions of fear, is related to the prosocial skills that these people have.
I noticed that one of the interviews he gave, as a prisoner, he said, saying that he was with Christ and he helped her to overcome difficulties. But when the interviewer asks if you want to eat these people were completely suppressed, he said no, it is sometimes really hard to hold back (3:15 minutes).
For a good blog about these studies (and research itself), give click here. The study I shared it with the blog Ribozyme The Zombies Carthago.
If we go to point number three, which is where I really did write this, does not say that all criminals have a social problem, mental, neurological, some will do it for money or to me, but implementing the death penalty, even suggesting it lightly, has many implications that must be considered. If this were really tested, I think the most honest is not implemented.
And yes, society sometimes has earned his desire for revenge, and revenge as he did with Zed Marcellus Wallace in Pulp Fiction (I'm gonna get medieval on your ass), but that's the hard part of that are unlikely to catch the right person.
